- Determining and formulating the exchange rate policy.
- Advising to the Government in respect of exchange rate regime.
- Carrying out foreign exchange management operations in accordance with the Foreign Exchange Management Law and the Foreign Exchange Management Regulations.
- Assisting and drafting secondary legislations such as Regulations, Orders, Instructions, Memorandum for the implementation of the Foreign Exchange Management Law and the Foreign Exchange Management Regulations.
- Issuing the Foreign Exchange Dealer Licenses (Authorized Dealer License and Money Changer License).
- Carrying out the process of Central Bank of Myanmar’s Foreign Exchange management and operations including introduction of market-based Reference Exchange Rate and moving to rule-based intervention framework.
- Determining the eligible foreign exchange currencies within Myanmar and adoption of the procedures on cross-border payment in line with the Laws and Regulations.
